My name is Ian Gunsell. I'm working hard to fund raise $2,753 to go on a week long educational/cultural immersion field trip to Costa Rica with my 8th grade class. I've lived my entire life in the Sierra foothills of California, helping my parents run a small scale, full time organic vegetable and poultry farm. Having a passion for science, cultural diversity, and geography, I hope to be able to g...o to Costa Rica next April. We will interact with local culture in small villages, observe tropical ecosystems, and study the flora and the fauna of the area. I rarely have opportunities to travel away from our farm, and I know that this trip would invaluably broaden my cultural and educational horizons. I've gotten off to a good start so far selling raffle tickets, as well as selling cherry tomatoes from my family's farm, but I've still a ways to go. I would deeply appreciate any contributions that you may be able to make towards my fund raising goal!

Grey Flannel Heirloom turkey

Through selective breeding, we here at Mountain Ranch Organically Grown have created the unique strain of turkey pictured above. This beautiful lady freely roams our quaint Mountain Ranch farm by day, and roosts in the Oak trees near our home by night. We will be offering our Heirloom, as well as Broad-Breasted Bronze turkeys, throughout the fall and winter. Please visit us at the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market, every other Saturday between the hours of 8am and 2pm. Place your order early to ensure that you get to enjoy one of these beauties with your loved ones this holiday season.
